Stop using "very" so much!! (ESO & Bach)

"I was very tired and very hungry and it was very cold...." it's soooo repetitive. Any ideas to avoid so many repetitions? How about the use of "extreme adjectives"?
 "I was exhausted and starving and it was freezing..."
